January 30: Down

This wreath is supposed to be over the fireplace. But it fell down today as the house shook from the artillery exercises nearby. Ah, the joys of living near a military base.

January 29: Grow

The remnants of my mint from this summer grows in a whiskey bottle.

January 28: Through

Through thick and thin, "I do"...

I love earrings. And of course, they work best together, in pairs.

January 25: Landscape

With the dropping temperatures, the landscape has become a crystalline, icy wonderland.

January 24: Stripes

Service stripes. Marines earn one for every 4 years of service.

January 23: Electric

Neon signs are cool. I like the restaurants that have loads of random posters and paraphernalia all over the walls. But an electric neon sign adds a different feel to the atmosphere.

January 22: Corner

It's fun to find everyday items that have a touch of whimsical charm.

January 21: What I Do

I do many things! Haha! My favorite things to do exercise my creativity. I picked up jewelry making a couple of years ago, and while I'm not making a living of it, I do like it very much!

January 20: Something I Saw

I have a pretty fantastic group of friends that are a lot like family to me. We spend LOTS of time together and I feel so privileged to get to see their little one learn and grow!

January 19: Something Delicious

I'm convinced that I could have a shot at Top Chef. I have opened the fridge to whatever collection of ingredients and concocted something edible and even yummy. Today's random assortment of ingredients turned into crab puffs. (Imitation crab meat, cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, crescent rolls)

January 18: Shadow

One of my favorite times of day is close to sunset. Sunlight is pretty amazing, but the shadows are long and the hues are a warm gold at the end of the day.

January 16: Two Things

One of the "perks" of living near a military base is the constant, far off hum of air crafts. It's easy to tune them out after a while. But at times, I realize how unique it is to live here and I gawk when I see a few fly by.

I have recently acquired an affinity for golden raisins. If I could put them in everything I eat, I probably would. Hmmm...

I finally bought a pair of cowgirl boots. It started off as fashion statement, but I feel pretty official since I was able to fool a nice gentleman from Texas today. He legitimately thought I was a southern girl! HA!

... Lunch time's over. Time to get back to work.

Nothing like a fresh new color to transform a space. But there are so many beautiful choices!

Tea. I'm not big on coffee like most of the people I know. This is my day starter.

January 7: Street

I'm visiting with my family and it was a beautiful, warm day here in the Central East! Nice enough that I even dared to venture out for a little walk. It's not the bustling streets I grew up walking down, but there is an excitement in being out in the open, feeling the warm sun, and breathing the crisp and unseasonably warm air.

I was trying to figure out how to go about this photo challenge and I found a photo theme a day from Fatmumslim that would make it more challenging and fun. Plus on the days that inspiration is beyond me, I have a starting point!

My hair that I fight with daily, but wouldn't change. My rings that represent my commitment and my Love. My eyes, my windows to the world around me.

Why hello there....

I decided in lieu of a normal New Year's resolution, I would do a 365 photo a day challenge. I already take entirely too many photos that take up TONS of space on my phone and hard drive. But I don't share them at all. Weird.... So this project will: #1. Force me to share at least one photo each day, #2. Help me keep record my year and revive this poor blog, #3. Hopefully help challenge and improve my photography skills.

Yes, I'm starting a few days after January 1. But tomorrow, January 6, is Epiphany. And I think that's quite a fitting place to start. Pray for me. Wish me luck. Here we go!
